Coolidge Justice of Peace Court serves the residents of Limestone County, the 27th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Coolidge district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Coolidge Justice of Peace Court judge has been in office since 2011 and has dedicated his life serving the Coolidge. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Limestone County Courthouse. The Coolidge Justice of Peace Court is located on 200 Bell Street in the city of Coolidge, the Limestone county seat.

The administration of justice in the Coolidge Justice of Peace Court is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Limestone County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Limestone County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Coolidge Justice of Peace Court was first built in 1904 in the Limestone Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in February 1900. Four courthouses have been built in Coolidge. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 254-786-4938 or fax 254-786-4916 to the court during office hours to get more information.
