Lexington Municipal Court serves the residents of Lee County, the 149th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Lexington Municipal Court was first built in 1906 in the Lee Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in March 1888. Four courthouses have been built in Lexington. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
