Lee County Court serves the residents of Lee County, the 149th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Giddings district clerk and county clerk. Lee County Court was first built in 1855 in the Lee Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in July 1894. Four courthouses have been built in Giddings. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
