Lometa Justice of Peace Court was first built in 1910 in the Lampasas Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in June 1893. Four courthouses have been built in Lometa. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
