Kempner Municipal Court serves the residents of Lampasas County, the 136th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Kempner Municipal Court was first built in 1859 in the Lampasas Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in March 1910. Four courthouses have been built in Kempner. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
