Lamar County Court serves the residents of Lamar County, the 28th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Lamar County Court was first built in 1913 in the Lamar Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in October 1887. Four courthouses have been built in Paris. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
