Franklin District Court I was first built in 1862 in the Lamar Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in February 1915. Four courthouses have been built in Paris. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
