Cotulla Municipal Court serves the residents of La Salle County, the 198th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Cotulla Municipal Court was first built in 1878 in the La Salle Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in July 1888. Four courthouses have been built in Cotulla. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
