Riviera Justice of Peace Court was first built in 1864 in the Kleberg Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in November 1890. Four courthouses have been built in Riviera. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
