Kingsville Justice of Peace Court I serves the residents of Kleberg County, the 229th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Kingsville district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Kingsville Justice of Peace Court I judge has been in office since 2011 and has dedicated his life serving the Kingsville. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Kleberg County Courthouse. The Kingsville Justice of Peace Court I is located on 620 North 3rd Street in the city of Kingsville, the Kleberg county seat.

The administration of justice in the Kingsville Justice of Peace Court I is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Kleberg County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Kleberg County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Kingsville Justice of Peace Court I was first built in 1872 in the Kleberg Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in October 1916. Four courthouses have been built in Kingsville. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 361-595-8571 or fax 361-595-8537 to the court during office hours to get more information.
