Kinney County Court was first built in 1892 in the Kinney Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in September 1875. Four courthouses have been built in Brackettville. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
