Kerrville Justice of Peace Court II serves the residents of Kerr County, the 227th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Kerrville district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Kerrville Justice of Peace Court II judge has been in office since 2016 and has dedicated his life serving the Kerrville. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Kerr County Courthouse. The Kerrville Justice of Peace Court II is located on 400 Clearwater Paseo in the city of Kerrville, the Kerr county seat.

The administration of justice in the Kerrville Justice of Peace Court II is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Kerr County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Kerr County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Kerrville Justice of Peace Court II was first built in 1885 in the Kerr Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in May 1881. Four courthouses have been built in Kerrville. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 830-792-6444 to the court during office hours to get more information.
