Johnson County Court was first built in 1891 in the Johnson Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in August 1883. Four courthouses have been built in Cleburne. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
