Jeff Branick

Beaumont Justice of Peace Court II serves the residents of Jefferson County, the 225th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Beaumont district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Beaumont Justice of Peace Court II judge has been in office since 2012 and has dedicated his life serving the Beaumont. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Jefferson County Courthouse. The Beaumont Justice of Peace Court II is located on 1001 Pearl Street in the city of Beaumont, the Jefferson county seat.

The administration of justice in the Beaumont Justice of Peace Court II is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Jefferson County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Jefferson County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site http://www.co.jefferson.tx.us/distcrts/136th.htm.

Beaumont Justice of Peace Court II was first built in 1918 in the Jefferson Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in June 1848. Four courthouses have been built in Beaumont. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 409-835-8522 or fax 409-835-8523 to the court during office hours to get more information.
