Mark Allen

Jasper Justice of Peace Court II serves the residents of Jasper County, the 11th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Jasper district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Jasper Justice of Peace Court II judge has been in office since 2011 and has dedicated his life serving the Jasper. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Jasper County Courthouse. The Jasper Justice of Peace Court II is located on 121 North Austin Street in the city of Jasper, the Jasper county seat.

The administration of justice in the Jasper Justice of Peace Court II is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Jasper County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Jasper County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Jasper Justice of Peace Court II was first built in 1903 in the Jasper Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in July 1853. Four courthouses have been built in Jasper. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 409-384-4534 or fax 409-383-1965 to the court during office hours to get more information.
