Jackson County Court serves the residents of Jackson County, the 111th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Jackson County Court was first built in 1884 in the Jackson Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in November 1857. Four courthouses have been built in Edna. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
