Lone Oak Municipal Court was first built in 1909 in the Hunt Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in August 1896. Four courthouses have been built in Lone Oak. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
