Hunt County Court serves the residents of Hunt County, the 102th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Hunt County Court was first built in 1897 in the Hunt Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in September 1853. Four courthouses have been built in Greenville. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
