Levelland Municipal Court serves the residents of Hockley County, the 67th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Levelland district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Levelland Municipal Court judge has been in office since 2015 and has dedicated his life serving the Levelland. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Hockley County Courthouse. The Levelland Municipal Court is located on 1709 Avenue H in the city of Levelland, the Hockley county seat.

The administration of justice in the Levelland Municipal Court is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Hockley County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Hockley County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Levelland Municipal Court was first built in 1895 in the Hockley Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in September 1866. Four courthouses have been built in Levelland. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 806-894-7975 or fax 806-894-8029 to the court during office hours to get more information.
