Levelland Municipal Court serves the residents of Hockley County, the 67th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Levelland Municipal Court was first built in 1895 in the Hockley Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in September 1866. Four courthouses have been built in Levelland. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
