Trinidad Municipal Court serves the residents of Henderson County, the 19th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Trinidad Municipal Court was first built in 1886 in the Henderson Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in February 1878. Four courthouses have been built in Trinidad. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
