Wimberley Municipal Court was first built in 1852 in the Hays Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in March 1865. Four courthouses have been built in Wimberley. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
