Katy Municipal Court was first built in 1869 in the Harris Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in September 1914. Four courthouses have been built in Katy. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
