Hansford County Court was first built in 1870 in the Hansford Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in March 1860. Four courthouses have been built in Spearman. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
