Hico Municipal Court serves the residents of Hamilton County, the 114th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Hico Municipal Court was first built in 1880 in the Hamilton Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in October 1908. Four courthouses have been built in Hico. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
