Seguin Justice of Peace Court I serves the residents of Guadalupe County, the 134th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Seguin district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Seguin Justice of Peace Court I judge has been in office since 2010 and has dedicated his life serving the Seguin. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Guadalupe County Courthouse. The Seguin Justice of Peace Court I is located on 11144 Farm to Market Road 725 in the city of Seguin, the Guadalupe county seat.

The administration of justice in the Seguin Justice of Peace Court I is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Guadalupe County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Guadalupe County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Seguin Justice of Peace Court I was first built in 1861 in the Guadalupe Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in September 1909. Four courthouses have been built in Seguin. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 830-372-8916 or fax 830-372-8924 to the court during office hours to get more information.
