Gregg County Court serves the residents of Gregg County, the 176th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Gregg County Court was first built in 1860 in the Gregg Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in September 1892. Four courthouses have been built in Longview. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
