Gunter Municipal Court was first built in 1848 in the Grayson Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in May 1887. Four courthouses have been built in Gunter. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
