Lefors Municipal Court serves the residents of Gray County, the 34th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Lefors Municipal Court was first built in 1858 in the Gray Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in July 1889. Four courthouses have been built in Lefors. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
