Waelder Justice of Peace Court serves the residents of Gonzales County, the 238th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Waelder district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Waelder Justice of Peace Court judge has been in office since 2013 and has dedicated his life serving the Waelder. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Gonzales County Courthouse. The Waelder Justice of Peace Court is located on 311 U.s. 90 in the city of Waelder, the Gonzales county seat.

The administration of justice in the Waelder Justice of Peace Court is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Gonzales County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Gonzales County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Waelder Justice of Peace Court was first built in 1907 in the Gonzales Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in May 1911. Four courthouses have been built in Waelder. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 830-788-7762 or fax 830-788-7650 to the court during office hours to get more information.
