Crowell Municipal Court was first built in 1881 in the Foard Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in August 1877. Four courthouses have been built in Crowell. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
