Lockney Municipal Court was first built in 1852 in the Floyd Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in August 1901. Four courthouses have been built in Lockney. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
