Schulenburg Justice of Peace Court serves the residents of Fayette County, the 14th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Schulenburg district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Schulenburg Justice of Peace Court judge has been in office since 2014 and has dedicated his life serving the Schulenburg. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Fayette County Courthouse. The Schulenburg Justice of Peace Court is located on 312 Paulus Street in the city of Schulenburg, the Fayette county seat.

The administration of justice in the Schulenburg Justice of Peace Court is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Fayette County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Fayette County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Schulenburg Justice of Peace Court was first built in 1885 in the Fayette Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in January 1847. Four courthouses have been built in Schulenburg. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 979-743-4041 or fax 979-743-3014 to the court during office hours to get more information.
