Ector Municipal Court serves the residents of Fannin County, the 89th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Ector district clerk and county clerk. Ector Municipal Court was first built in 1901 in the Fannin Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in May 1903. Four courthouses have been built in Ector. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
