Odessa Municipal Court was first built in 1851 in the Ector Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in February 1848. Four courthouses have been built in Odessa. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
