Donley County Court serves the residents of Donley County, the 29th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Donley County Court was first built in 1914 in the Donley Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in July 1917. Four courthouses have been built in Clarendon. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
