Carrizo Springs Municipal Court was first built in 1917 in the Dimmit Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in January 1884. Four courthouses have been built in Carrizo Springs. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
