Pilot Point Municipal Court serves the residents of Denton County, the 16th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Pilot Point district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Pilot Point Municipal Court judge has been in office since 2013 and has dedicated his life serving the Pilot Point. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Denton County Courthouse. The Pilot Point Municipal Court is located on 102 East Main Street in the city of Pilot Point, the Denton county seat.

The administration of justice in the Pilot Point Municipal Court is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Denton County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Denton County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Pilot Point Municipal Court was first built in 1906 in the Denton Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in December 1870. Four courthouses have been built in Pilot Point. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 940-686-2165 or fax 940-686-3070 to the court during office hours to get more information.
