Hickory Creek Municipal Court was first built in 1901 in the Denton Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in July 1920. Four courthouses have been built in Hickory Creek. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
