Denton District Court was first built in 1865 in the Denton Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in September 1858. Four courthouses have been built in Denton. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
