Richardson Municipal Court serves the residents of Dallas County, the 66th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Richardson Municipal Court was first built in 1847 in the Dallas Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in December 1882. Four courthouses have been built in Richardson. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
