North Dallas Justice Court serves the residents of Dallas County, the 66th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. North Dallas Justice Court was first built in 1889 in the Dallas Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in May 1872. Four courthouses have been built in Dallas. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
