Irving Municipal Court serves the residents of Dallas County, the 66th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Irving Municipal Court was first built in 1872 in the Dallas Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in August 1878. Four courthouses have been built in Irving. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
