Grand Prairie Municipal Court serves the residents of Dallas County, the 66th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Grand Prairie Municipal Court was first built in 1868 in the Dallas Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in August 1875. Four courthouses have been built in Grand Prairie. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
