Grand Prairie Justice of Peace Court was first built in 1866 in the Dallas Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in October 1860. Four courthouses have been built in Grand Prairie. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
