Dallas County Criminal Court was first built in 1868 in the Dallas Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in December 1896. Four courthouses have been built in Dallas. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
