Culberson County Court serves the residents of Culberson County, the 169th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Culberson County Court was first built in 1875 in the Culberson Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in September 1901. Four courthouses have been built in Van Horn. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
