Evant Municipal Court serves the residents of Coryell County, the 244th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Evant Municipal Court was first built in 1863 in the Coryell Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in April 1865. Four courthouses have been built in Evant. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
