Muenster Municipal Court serves the residents of Cooke County, the 90th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Muenster Municipal Court was first built in 1861 in the Cooke Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in May 1912. Four courthouses have been built in Muenster. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
