De Leon Municipal Court serves the residents of Comanche County, the 20th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the De Leon district clerk and county clerk. De Leon Municipal Court was first built in 1854 in the Comanche Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in October 1873. Four courthouses have been built in De Leon. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
