Prosper Municipal Court serves the residents of Collin County, the 99th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Prosper Municipal Court was first built in 1858 in the Collin Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in June 1849. Four courthouses have been built in Prosper. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
